Bo Brinkman is an Associate Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has received best paper awards for his work in computer ethics and algorithms and was published in the prestigious Journal of the ACM. Alton F. Sanders began his computer career in 1963. He has worked as a software developer, software consultant, system manager, and university professor. He is now Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

A Nice Selection of Drawings

This is actually a nice selection of pen and ink drawings exhibiting a wide variety of styles. Historically it goes from Reginald Birch to Rockwell Kent. There are good images on every page, many full-page in size so they are useful to the budding pen and ink artist. Treasury of American Pen-and-Ink Illustrations...A great find!!!

This by chance was found on the Amazon Dot Com Nation as I checked over someone who really liked this book...but was new to pen/ink and had a hard time accepting this book for trying to master the art of pen/ink drawing...I was lucky to review what I saw and ordered the book without hesitation...It's a great reference book and has much about the styles and illustrations during this time period (1881-1938). What a great find...!! Some wonderful history runs through each illustrated page...I'm still submerged in reviewing some of these pen and ink artists within these pages then surf the internet to find out more of said artist.
Great book! One I will treasure for many years.

Key geostatistical concepts such as integration of geologic data and concepts, scale considerations, and uncertainty models receive greater attention, and new comprehensive sections are provided on preliminary geological modeling concepts, data inventory, conceptual model, problem formulation, large scale modeling, multiple point-based simulation and event-based modeling. Geostatistical methods are extensively illustrated through enhanced schematics, work flows and examples with discussion on method capabilities and selection. For example, this expanded second edition includes extensive discussion on the process of moving from an inventory of data and concepts through conceptual model to problem formulation to solve practical reservoir problems.

A greater number of examples are included, with a set of practical geostatistical studies developed to illustrate the steps from data analysis and cleaning to post-processing, and ranking. New methods, which have developed in the field since the publication of the first edition, are discussed, such as models for integration of diverse data sources, multiple point-based simulation, event-based simulation, spatial bootstrap and methods to summarize geostatistical realizations.

Another great story!

This is very much a continuation of the series and it just sort of carries you along with all the usual verve and interesting plots until you are done and just sad it ended. I will admit that I struggled with all the detail in this book but it was great to read something different and not the normal run of the mill. Try the whole series if you need a book with something not ordinary.

The weakest book in a superb series

I've read the whole set now (6 books, well 5 and a short). I wondered if Antoine could keep up the excitement and the answer is "no". This last book is slow (for about 70%) and very very confusing. Finally, at the end, there is some excitement. But I don't see how he can keep Emily's story going without her getting into greater & greater perils each time. The narration switches between characters but often without any idea of who is talking with whom. By the end all becomes clear, but it takes some effort to get there.
There are also more typos than previous books: "intell" should have one 'l'; all instances are incorrect. 'You're' is used for 'your', 'new' for 'knew' and 'one's' for 'ones'. I still rated the book '4' though if I'd read it by itself, I might have given it a lower score. All the other books in the series I rated 5+.

A Joyful Cooking Experience

This book is getting a special place in my shelf, I found some wonderful nice dishes in this book, which I will continue to use.
I was looking for some nice finger food recipe books all over Amazon and in this book I found exactly what I was looking for. I love the side dishes and my kids loved the Italian Sausage Muffins. In this book you can find something for everyone. There are dishes for a fast and quick cook or a cozy and slow evening meal, easy to follow and just delicious. As a chef it was important for me that a lot of these dishes were easy to prepare and serve to my family. From vegetarian to seafood to meat dishes you can find everything in this book.
I found it a joyful and simple guide to delicious Italian recipes.

You better come hungry when you get this Italian Cookbook as it is full of great recipes. The author doesn't waste any time and gets right to the recipes. There are recipes for every meal and they are concise and easy to follow. Start your day with a tomato and bacon frittata and move on to a salmon broccoli casserole. The ingredients in this cookbook are simple and readily available, so there is no excuse not to give them a try. I always like to try new recipes and I am glad to have this in my collection. Tomorrow, I head to the grocery store to get the ingredients for chicken macaroni soup-it sounds yummy! Don't miss this cookbook!

Filled with great recipes, I am so happy that I got this cook book. Not the first cookbook I have bought by Patrick Smith, but I can say that Italian recipes are among some of my favorites so I knew I wanted this one too right away. He always does a great job in the recipes presented and chosen - details are easy to understand and follow and are so yummy. I can hardly wait to get started on our next meal.

About the Author

Alain Badiou is emeritus professor of philosophy at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. One of the most well-known philosophers of our time, he is also a novelist, playwright, and political activist. He is the author of The Incident at Antioch/L'Incident d'Antioche: A Tragedy in Three Acts/Tragédie en trois actes.

Kenneth Reinhard is associate professor of English and comparative literature at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the coauthor of The Neighbor: Three Inquiries in Political Theology and After Oedipus: Shakespeare in Psychoanalysis.

Susan Spitzer is a frequent translator of Badiou's works, most recently, Five Lessons on Wagner, and the play, The Incident at Antioch.

Made me dislike Badiou and Plato more than I already did, no mean feat. i don't see how this airy-fairy concept-crunching is supposed to help anyone. I just find it vaguely sinister.
